A 49-year-old Kansas firefighter died yesterday after participating in air management training.
According to the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA), Firefighter Ronnie W. Peek of the Garden City (KS) Fire Department fell ill while participating in fire department mandated air management training. He was subsequently transported to the hospital where he suffered a heart attack and passed away.
He had 16 years of service.
He is the third firefighter fatality reported to the USFA this year.
