LA Fire Official Fined for State Ethics Laws Violation

From www.wdsu.com:

Baton Rouge (LA) (AP) — Tim Thiebau, a Harvey (LA) Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 official, has agreed to pay a $10,000 fine for violating state ethics laws.

Authorities say the fine came as part of a settlement of Louisiana Board of Ethics conflict-of-interest.

The charges are related to business the fire company did with Thiebaud and his wife Donna’s business, Thiebaud’s Emergency Vehicle Lighting & Supplies, while he was assistant chief and a fire company board member.

The board also said that in his position as assistant chief, Thiebaud requested that the fire company purchase $28,069 in supplies from his business.
