LACoFD Captain Dies of Apparent Heart Attack

A fire captain with the County of Los Angeles (CA) Fire Department (LACoFD) died from an apparent heart attack earlier this month, according to a U.S. Fire Administration notice.

On Wednesday, February 9, 2022, the LACoFD received a 9-1-1 call. After receiving the call, Captain Steven McCann, 48, collapsed. Firefighters immediately performed CPR and he was rushed to the Arcadia Methodist Hospital where he passed away a short time later from an apparent heart attack.
