Las Vegas Firefighters Help Rebuild Las Vegas Family’s Home

Las Vegas Firefighters

On April 25 the Las Vegas Firefighters (LVFF) will join Rebuilding Together Southern Nevada (RTSNV) in a project to help a family refurbish their home.

Through this project they will be providing free home repairs and modifications to make it more accessible and user-friendly based on the occupants needs/disabilities to improve the resident’s quality of life. Specifically, the project will include preparing soffit and fascia for paint then painting them, removing dead trees and bushes, pulling weeds, spreading new landscape rock, patching sheetrock and stucco where a swamp cooler is being removed, building a new wood foundation for a metal shed, installing a new exterior door in the garage and spraying Roundup over landscape rocks.

LVFF Community Outreach Chairman, Todd Ingalsbee, and LVFF Community Outreach Committee Member, Jeff Rogers, are spearheading and coordinating the project. Inglasbee says, “We are looking forward to taking advantage of this unique opportunity to give back to our community. Right now, a record number of people in our community have homes that are in desperate need of repair. We are thankful that Rebuilding Together Southern Nevada is joining us in organizing this event, which will help a deserving, local family in need.”

Since 1994, RTSNV has been working with the City of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, and Henderson communities to preserve affordable homeownership by bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners. RTSNV provides services to seniors, veterans, and families of active-duty service members, multigenerational families, and disabled homeowners so that they may continue to live safe and independent lives. Services are provided at no cost to qualified homeowners.
