Chief Rick Lasky announced that after 11 years with the Lewisville (TX) Fire Department he will retire in the fall to pursue teaching and consulting full time.
“As I look back, I have no regrets,” Lasky said. “This department is full of passion and pride. I’ve been blessed with a great department and a great city. I’m just ready to close this chapter and start the next. I enjoy teaching. I enjoy the energy of the classroom, the people and of making a difference in the fire service on a national platform. I never thought the jock in high school would fall in love with teaching, but the energy I get from teaching makes me want to do more.”
