By Sean Bassinger

Two cars and a shed were destroyed and Highway 97 was closed to traffic after a wildfire broke out near the Oregon-California border Tuesday afternoon.

The fire, which occurred around 4:47 p.m. and was the result of a lightning strike, stretched across 20 to 25 acres, according to Deputy State Fire Marshal Scott Rice.

One firefighter was injured and was reported in stable condition after he received medical attention, Rice added. No other injuries were reported.
