Lindale firefighter Joe Yeakley remained in critical but stable condition Saturday at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, suffering from injuries sustained when a roof collapsed during a house fire he was helping fight, reports the Tyler Morning Telegraph.
Yeakley, 52, a 14-year Lindale Fire Department veteran, was rescued from a burning home in Lindale on Friday after an early morning fire destroyed the house, and the roof over the garage collapsed, fire officials said.
Yeakley suffered severe burns to his face and hands and was flown by helicopter to Parkland Hospital.
First-year Dixie firefighter Caleb Snider suffered burns to both arms but was treated and released from a Tyler hospital.
