Los Angeles (CA) Fire Department officials expressed their dismay over a security breach involving confidential patient information.
The L.A. Times reports (http://lat.ms/V8GzyY) that information was illegally obtained from patients who rode city ambulances, but fire officials said dozens of other agencies were also affected by the breach. Earlier the the Times had reported that the city had sent letters to 26 patients notifying them of the breach and how patients who thought they might have been victimized should proceed.
