MA Garage Fire Leads to Propane Tank Explosion

According to a report from WWLP, the Longmeadow (MA) Fire Department (LFD) responded to an attached garage fire that eventually spread to a propane tank, causing an explosion shortly after their arrival.

LFD crews were dispatched to Dunn Road on Saturday night, January 7, for a reported building fire. On arrival, crews discovered the garage fully engulfed, with vehicles on fire.

The home suffered serious water and heat damage. The family dog was missing, but was since found on Sunday.

All residents escaped to safety. An LFD firefighter and a resident were evaluated on scene for heat exhaustion. The cause of the fire was found to be accidental.
