Marshfield (MO) Firefighter Suffers Severe Burns

UPDATE, 7/15/2013: Marshfield Fire Chief Michael Taylor said on Sunday night that one of the three firefighters injured while battling the Saturday fire is still in critical condition.

Firefighters were trying to put out a fire inside a two-story home in Niangua, when conditions rapidly changed and the men were briefly trapped inside of the home, according to KY3 News (http://bit.ly/16Eqd7A).

Original Story, 7/14/2013: A Springfield Fire Department spokesperson says a Marshfield (MO) firefighter is in the burn unit at Mercy Hospital with severe burns suffered at a house fire in Niangua, reports KSPR 33 (http://bit.ly/18ew6LZ).

A second injured firefighter was treated and released. No names have been released. The spokesperson says the state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
