Massive Early-Morning Commercial Fire Hits Chicago’s Albany Park Neighborhood



According to a report from ABC7, a massive multi-alarm fire hit several buildings, including a gym and a brewpub, in Chicago’s Albany Park neighborhood at around 3:30 a.m. Monday. The Chicago (IL) Fire Department (CFD) said a 60-year-old man was critically injured in the fire.

The fire began in the 4300-block of North Richmond Street and spread to the Twisted Hippo brewpub and the Ultimate Ninjas gym. Both businesses are now considered complete losses.

A neighbor said the fire erupted in a third-floor unit of the residential building. CFD officials said the second and third floors as we;; as the back porch were completely engulfed when fire crews arrived.

The fire caused a partial building collapse, with some debris landing on nearby vehicles. Several neighbors evacuated.
