LOUISVILLE, KY. — A six-alarm fire is raging at the General Electric Appliance Park location in Lousville.

A thick plume of black smoke billowed from the site and can be seen for miles.

More than 120 firefighters are battling the massive blaze, which has engulfed a building, Chief Kevin Tyler from Jefferson County Fire Service said.

“The structure has collapsed,” he said. “We have 18 different fire districts throughout Jefferson County on the scene.”

There were no injuries, Tyler said.

The fire came as emergency crews were also dealing with flash flooding throughout the southern portion of Jefferson County, complicating efforts to quell it.

GE Appliance Park is a 1,000-acre facility that is headquarters to GE Consumer & Industrial, the appliances division of GE. About 6,000 employees work there.

A GE spokeswoman, Kim Freeman, told NBC News that the affected building was not a production facility and said the rest of the plants have been evacuated.
