Indianapolis (IN) firefighters sustained slight injuries while responding to a house fire Saturday, according to a release from the department.
Firefighters were responding to a fire just after 3 p.m. on March 2, 2024, at 3632 N Rural St. when a flashover occurred. One firefighter bailed out the front window as fire blew out and a Mayday was called, although it was quickly cleared. The firefighter was transported to be checked out, and a second firefighter who had been injured was checked on scene and released.
Crews brought the fire under control in 20 minutes. The homeowner was not home when the fire began and the cause is under investigation.
