Mayday, Several Firefighters Injured in West New York (NJ) Fire

Multiple firefighters from North Hudson (NJ) Regional Fire & Rescue were injured battling a Thanksgiving Day fire in West New York, New Jersey.

Fire photographer Ron Jeffers provided photos from the scene of the fire in a three-story, mixed-use building at 5222 Bergenline Ave.

CBS News reported that the firefighters were injured in an explosion and roof collapse. North Hudson Regional Fire & Rescue Chief Dave Donnarumma told reporters that eight members were injured, including some with broken bones and smoke inhalation. Approximately four people were rescued via ladder. The fire is under investigation.

A Mayday was declared on the fireground, according to NBC New York, and several members had to be rescued by other firefighters.
