Mebane (NC) Firefighter Injured in House Fire Mayday

A Mebane firefighter is recovering after sustaining minor heat-related injuries during a house fire on Oakwood Street yesterday afternoon.

Crews from four different departments responded to the blaze, which is suspected to have been caused by an electrical issue, WXII reports.

According to the Mebane Fire Chief, the injured firefighter became separated from his crew inside the home, prompting a Mayday call.

Despite the incident, the firefighter is expected to make a full recovery. Unfortunately, the fire caused significant damage to the home.
