Medicount Management Inc. (Medicount) announced today that it has successfully acquired the EMS Billing services division of MBI Solutions from its parent company, Premier Physicians Services. Premier was acquired late last year by Team Health.
According to Medicount’s President, Joseph (Joey) A. Newcomb, “We became aware of the impending divestiture of Team Health’s EMS business last November, and saw this as a great opportunity to expand our presence in our core geographic area with an organization that complements our core service offerings.” He added, “At this time, our immediate focus is to make sure that our new customers experience a seamless transition to Medicount in the weeks ahead.”
Medicount is a Cincinnati-based privately held company that was founded in 1990 and is owned by retired Cincinnati firefighter, Joseph D. Newcomb. Prior to the acquisition, the company had the largest EMS billing customer base in the State of Ohio. The acquisition will further expand Medicount’s presence in the mid-west region. Newcomb commented, “We are very excited about this acquisition. We will continue to remain focused on growing our presence within the EMS Billing segment and look forward to working with our newly acquired customers.”
