Michigan Assistant Fire Chief Dies of Apparent Heart Attack

Assistant Fire Chief William Russell “Uncle Will” Wiita of Coldsprings-Excelsior (MI) Fire and Rescue Station #6 died of apparent heart attack.

According to the U.S. Fire Administration, on September 8, approximately three hours after Assistant Fire Chief Wiita responded to a rescue/medical call, Wiita was found deceased at his residence from an apparent heart attack.

Wilta was 47 and had 13 years of service.
