Milwaukee (WI) Firefighter Tangles with Fire Station Intruder

A Milwaukee (WI) fire captain was stabbed twice when he confronted an intruder in Engine 16’s living quarters.

At a press conference Monday, Captain Dan Nikolaus told how he awoke to the sounds of shuffling blinds only to find a male intruder in the fire station, according to a Journal Sentinel report (http://bit.ly/19m49zk). Nikolaus laid hands on the man and called for help, but was stabbed in the back; the wounds did not require stitches.

Other firefighters rushed to Nikolaus’s aid and subdued the man, who was arrested. Charges are pending.
