A firefighter in Minnesota has died after responding to an emergency call, according to a report from the U.S. Fire Administration.
Late on Sunday, January 12, 2020, Chief Daryl “Taddy” Drusch, 49, of the Howard Lake Fire Department responded to an EMS call for a car submerged in ice. Early Monday morning, January 13, 2020, he suffered an apparent heart attack at his home and was rushed to the hospital where he passed away.
Chief Drusch had 30 years of service.
Thus far in 2020 there have been five reported firefighter fatalities to the USFA.
