MO Firefighter Injured Falling Through Floor at House Fire

A Kansas City (MO) firefighter was injured early this morning when he fell through a floor into a basement of a burning home in Raytown, Missouri. The firefighter sustained an injury to his knee, but a spokesman for the department quoted in a news report said his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

The Kansas City (MO) Fire Department responded to an automatic mutual aid call with the Raytown (MO) Fire Department to an early-morning house fire. On arrival firefighters found flames coming through the basement and first floor of the one-story structure. The firefighter was injured fighting the fire, which was brought under control in about a half hour. No one else was injured.
