Molalla (OR) Firefighters Prepare for Intense Wildfire Season

Firefighters around Oregon are preparing for a busy wildfire season, reports (

One training session was held in Molalla Saturday.

Firefighters used live fire and a helicopter to mimic the conditions they could face in a wildland setting.

This event focused on training firefighters who would lead field operations, either as an engine boss or a strike team leader.

Firefighters could be more in demand this year than in years past.

Leaders said this training is critical, especially for firefighters who are used to structure fires in urban settings.
