The Turin, NY Volunteer Fire Department is $3000 closer to rebuilding its firehouse due to a Winter Field Day held at the Snow Ridge Ski Area in December.
A fire early in November had virtually destroyed the firehouse and three of the vehicles in it.
Sponsoring the fund raising event were WBRV radio, Boonville; the Saulsbury Fire Equipment Co., Tuily and the Snow Ridge Ski Area.
During the day, area teams competed in a wide variety of events such as snowmobile and ATV races, a snowshoe tug of war and skiing events.
