MOTOROLA is installing a $34 million ASTROTM digital radio voice, data communications system in Nashville, Tennessee. All users will be on the system by early 2000. The system includes an 800 MHz ASTROTM SmartZoneTM simulcast trunked voice radio system and a Private Data TACTM mobile data system. The system will serve the fire, police, and EMS departments and other city agencies. MOTOROLA`s Commercial, Government, and Industrial Solutions Sector (CGISS) announced a software alliance agreement with CERULEAN TECHNOLOGY, INC. Motorola will offer Cerulean`s PacketCluster product suite as part of its Private Data TAC solution, a 19.2 Kbps dedicated wireless data network designed to support public safety information needs.
