MS Fire Chief Dies After Contracting COVID-19

The U.S. Fire Administration released a report on the death of a fire chief in Mississippi who had contracted the coronavirus.

While on-duty, Chief Wayne Doyle of the Lowndes County (MS) Emergency Services Volunteer Fire District 3 responded to numerous EMS calls where he was exposed to COVID-19. He subsequently contracted the virus and passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022.

Chief Doyle was 62 years old.
