MT Wildfires Force Evacuations

Two wind-fueled wildland fires on Montana’s Blackfeet Reservation forced hundreds to flee and destroyed several structures.

A report from the Associated Press ( indicated that the fires started approximately at sundown on Wednesday and grew to at least 45,000 acres over the course of the night. At least 300 people were forced to leave their homes as authorities worked to remove other people from the wildfires’ path.

No injuries were reported as of Thursday morning. It is believed that power lines downed by the winds may have started the fires.
