More than a dozen units were damaged or destroyed this evening by a fire that ripped through a condominium complex, authorities said.
No injuries or deaths have been reported in connection with the multi-alarm fire at the Union Hills complex on Sam Bonnell Drive, State Police Sgt. Brian Polite said.
“We’re looking at at least 15 units affected by this fire,” which was called in at about 6:50 p.m., he said, emphasizing reports from the fire scene are preliminary.
New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jim Butler said the fire was still active at 9 p.m.
Asked if windy conditions have a role in the difficult containment, Butler said “it’s not helping.”
He said there are 18 apartment units in the affected building.
