Police Officer Dies, Multiple Patients Treated After Shooting Incident at Pentagon



According to a report from NBC News, Arlington (VA) Fire & EMS posted a message on Twitter that it “did encounter multiple patients” after an active shooter incident Tuesday morning at the Pentagon. It was later discovered that one of the shooting victims was a police officer, who has died.

About one hour after the Pentagon Force Protection Agency posted a tweet indicating an “incident at the Pentagon Transit Center,” the scene was deemed “secure.”

The lockdown was lifted just before 12:15 p.m. The Agency, which is responsible for protecting occupants of the Pentagon, .

Officials have not released details about the extent of the injuries.

Sherri Ly with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority said that Metrobuses were being diverted from the transit hub, and trains were bypassing the Pentagon Transit Center because of the ongoing police investigation on the Pentagon Reservation.
