Three people were killed in a house fire Monday evening in Muscatine, Iowa.
KWQC reported that crews arriving at the fire around 6:30 p.m. found one person outside a window. That person was hospitalized in critical condition.
Crews initiated a fire attack amid extreme heat, smoke, and flame conditions. They found multiple rooms in a “post-flashover state,” the fire department told reporters. One firefighter sustained minor injuries.
The fire reportedly killed two children and one adult. The cause of the fire was listed as undetermined.
