NAMES IN THE NEWS
The IAFC membership has elected new officers for the 1990-91 year. The new president is CHIEF DAVID W. HILTON of the
Cobb County, Georgia Fire Department. An IAFC member since 1965, Hilton has served as first and second vice president of the association, as well as president of the IAFC’S Southwestern Division. The new first vice president is CHIEF JAMES HALSEY of the Troy, Michigan fire department. Since joining the IAFC in 1975, Halsey has served as the president of the IAFC’S Great Lake Division and a member of the Volunteer Fire Service Committee. The second vice president is
CHIEF GARY L NICHOLS of the sedgwich county, Kansas Fire District. Nichols, who joined the IAFC in 1975, has served two terms as treasurer, a three-year term as the Missouri Valley director, and one year as IAFC director-at-large. The new treasurer, CHIEF ROBERT COUNTS, of the Troy, Ohio Fire Department has been an An IAFC member since 1965, Counts has served on the IAFC Board as the international director of the Great Lake Division, chairman of the Fire Prevention Committee, and facilitator for the Fire Prevention and Codes Committees.
PAUL E. SINCAGLIA and GREGORY HARRINGTON won fire service scholarships to support their fire protection engineering studies at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The $5,000 awards were made possible by a grant from CIGNA Corporation from Volunteer Firemen’s Insurance Services Inc.
Sincaglia was a member of the Chagrin Falls (OH) Fire Department in high school and remains an active member of the department. He is studying for a dual degree — bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and master’s in fire protection engineering.
Harrington has been a member of the Lunenburg (MA) Fire Department for six years. He received a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and is taking graduate classes in fire protection engineering.
CASE FEENSTRA has been promoted to vicepresident, sales for Holmatro, Inc. He has sold Holmatro equipment for eight years in Canada and has been sales manager for the Canadian territory for the past three years.
DON KING has been named sales manager of the Canadian territory. He has sold equipment to the fire service for the past seven years. For the past three years he has been sales manager of the rescue division for C.E. Hickey & Sons.
JOSEPH E. FlSHELSON has retired as chairman of Red Head Brass, Inc., a company he founded in 1972 that manufactures couplings and adapters. He was previously president of Akron Brass where he was credited with constant stream nozzles, the use of lightweight alloys, electric ladder pipes, bypass eductors, and other fire service products.
