Former Tulsa (OK) Fire Department Assistant Chief HAROLD GENE McCOY, 57, died in September after a battle with cancer. He retired in February after serving 35 years in the department. McCoy was a fire captain for 15 years before he was promoted to district chief in 1999, and became assistant fire chief in 2004. He trained cadets at the Tulsa Fire Academy and traveled nationwide delivering programs for the National Fire Academy. McCoy was an instructor at Tulsa Community College and developed a program on generational differences within the fire service.
