Salisbury (NC) (WBTV) – A firefighter who was scheduled to start a full-time position with the Locke Township (NC) Volunteer Fire Department passed away from natural causes Wednesday night, sources confirmed.
Lieutenant Chris Phillips died hours after responding to a fatal crash on Edmiston Road near Mt. Ulla.
Phillips had also worked for the Churchland Volunteer Fire Department in Davidson County and Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
