A young volunteer firefighter died after being stabbed at a birthday party at his house in Stoneville, North Carolina.
A friend of the firefighter was also stabbed in the Saturday incident, but suffered only nonlife-threatening injuries, according to a WGHP report (http://bit.ly/Qpzx9P).
Investigators say Mark Chandler, 23, and his friend Cody Collins were stabbed after a fight broke out during a birthday party being hosted by Chandler for his fiancé at about 3:30 a.m. on Saturday.
On Monday, the flag outside of the Stoneville Fire Department flew at half staff as those close to Chandler remembered him.
