A veteran Nebraska firefighter died in the line of duty on Sunday, according to a repot from the U.S. Fire Administration.
Dakota City (NE) Fire Department Firefighter Lowell Satterwhite responded to an emergency call at 1130hrs on Saturday. Later that day, he returned home and went to sleep. At approximately 0030hrs on Sunday, Firefighter Satterwhite suffered an apparent heart attack and was transported to a hospital in Sioux City, Iowa, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Earlier this year, Dakota City Fire Captain Andrew “Andy” Zalme died after collapsing at a call.
