Federal Law requires every fire department, ambulance, and emergency response organization to have a designated infection control officer (DICO). Until now, there has been no single source for DICO training, assistance, or resources. The National Association for Public Safety Infection Control Officers (NAPSICO) is a new non-profit association established to give public safety leaders, departments, and DICOs the tools needed to develop and manage an effective infection control program in their department. NAPSICO utilizes an evidence-based approach to providing the training and resources needed to facilitate appropriate policy and procedure development and cost-benefit analyses related to infection control and workplace wellness. Visit www.napsico.org for information about the association and membership.
