A veteran firefighter suffered a heart attack while operating at the scene of a fire in White Plains, New York, according to a news report.
News12 reported that the 50-year-old firefighter was revived and then transported to the hospital after collapsing at the scene of an apartment fire.

Heart attacks are a leading cause of firefighter fatalities, and have claimed the lives of two young firefighters in recent weeks, one in Pennsylvania, and another in South Carolina.
