Albuquerque (NM) – Five Albuquerque Station 8 firefighters who won a $10,000 share of the record Mega Millions jackpot last week will donate an unspecified part of their winnings to fellow firefighter Vince Cordova, who is suffering from a life-threatening tumor.

After convincing their fellow members that it wasn’t an April Fools’ joke, Hyland and the other four winner – Steve Keffer, Paul McClure, Clinton Anderson, and Si Do – decided to donate part of their winnings to the local firefighters Survival Fund.

The 24-year-old Cordova has a rare tumor that applies pressure on his brain. He will die if the tumor is not removed, but life-saving surgery from a specialist in Los Angeles costs a few hundred thousand dollars.
