North Carolina Pilot Dies in Fiery Plane Crash

A plane crash near North Park Community Center in Burlington (NC) claimed the life of the pilot, reports WFMY News 2.

The pilot has been identified as David Gamble from Greensboro.

The FAA said the plane, a Pilatus PC-12, crashed after departure from Burlington-Alamance Regional Airport. The plane’s destination was

Morristown Municipal Airport in New Jersey. The pilot was the only person on board.

Police said as much as 400 gallons of jet fuel may have been spilled resulting from the crash.

Police said about 50 emergency responders and LabCorp representatives were on the scene.
