In June 2014, the North Lyon County Professional Fire Fighters presented a graduating high school student with the organization’s “2014 Scholarship Award.” This education-based donation is part of an annual effort for the firefighters to further education in their community.

Daniel Putney of Fernley High School was presented with a $1,000 scholarship, which will help him with tuition and books when he attends college in the fall of this year. Members of the North Lyon County Fire Department personally presented him with the scholarship check (see photo).

Bill Snyder of the North Lyon County Professional Fire Fighters, says, “We are honored to assist this deserving local student, and wish all Fernley High School graduates the best of luck in pursuit of their post high school dreams.”
