Multiple Fire Departments Respond to North Queensbury (NY) Structure Fire

At approximately 1600 hours on Friday, May 3, 2019, North Queensbury (NY) Fire and Emergency was dispatched to a reported structure fire near on Ridge Road across from Oak Valley Way.

Multiple passersby called in to report flames through the roof. North Queensbury Car 225 requested a Firefighter Assist and Search Team (FAST) from Bay Ridge Fire and for Lake George to provide a tanker. When Warren County Fire Car 4 arrived he reported a working structure fire and requested more tankers. At 18:32, command noted the deteriorating fire conditions and made the proper evacuation orders.

The small, single-family home presented many challenges to firefighters on scene, including a metal roof as well as many trees in a close proximity to the house. Firefighters from North Queensbury, South Queensbury, Queensbury Central, Bay Ridge, Lake George, Pilot Knob, West Fort Ann, and Kingsbury operated at the scene along with North Queensbury EMS, Bay Ridge EMS, and West Fort Ann EMS. Firefighters from Hudson Falls, Bolton, Warrensburg, and West Glens Falls provided cover assignments to cover the districts that were at the fire. Firefighters remained on scene as of 2100 hours on Friday.
