White Plains (NY) – Police said a car salesman committed suicide Sunday night after he closed the dealership, went to a back parking lot, doused himself with gasoline, and lit a match.
Roger Patronick, 66, a salesman at White Plains Honda, 316 Central Avenue, was pronounced dead on arrival at Westchester Medical Center. The county Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the death a suicide by immolation.
Police were called to 116 Central Ave., the dealership’s used-car lot, shortly after 7 p.m. by a passer-by who said a man was badly burned. Patronick was still alive, lying in a back parking lot, when first-responders arrived.
