On April 11, 2017, the Shaker Road Fire Department, Town of Colonie Duty Crew, Fuller Road, and the West Albany Fire Department responded to 577 Albany Shaker Road in New York for a confirmed working structure fire. Sidewinder Photography shared some photos from the scene.

As firefighters pulled out of the station, they could see the flames blowing over the houses. Firefighters arrived on scene quickly and established a water supply. Command requested the signal 30 for a working structure fire and had multiple exposure issues on each side of the residence.

The large, wood-frame garage was heavily involved and was starting to melt the siding on the house next to it. Firefighters stretched multiple handlines going to the heavily involved two-story garage and started to driving back the heavy fire. Firefighters from Fuller Road and Shaker Road hit the fire from both sides with blitz fires and hand lines quickly knocking down the fire.

As firefighters were knocking down the fire, the garage collapsed in on itself. Firefighters also extinguished multiple trees that caught fire because of the extreme heat, and also extinguished a trailer that caught fire in the yard next to the garage. Firefighters removed two propane tanks from the scene also that were exposed to extreme heat.

Firefighters were on scene until the early hours of the morning. No firefighters were injured and no residents were injured at the time of the fire. The fire is currently under investigation at this time.
