Leo C. Bales

Leo C. Bales, 78, retired chief of the Lampasas, Texas, Fire Department, died on June 27. He was an active member of that department for 30 years before his retirement in 1955.

Bales was a former instructor at Texas A&M Firemen’s Training School and was an adviser to the school until his death. He was also past president of the State Fireman’s and Fire Marshal’s Association. He also was instrumental in organizing the Central Texas Fireman’s and Fire Marshal’s Association and was a past president of it.
