Ocala (FL) Fire Rescue units were dispatched at 3:41 a.m. to a vacant single-story structure fire at 1832 NW 3rd Street.
Flames where visible from the exterior of the home when the first units arrived. After ensuring the home was unoccupied, firefighters proceeded to combat the fire.
While inside, Engine 3 crews, joined by those of engines No. 1 and No. 4, were advised by outside command that the roof of the home was unstable. Two minutes later the roof collapsed. All crew members exited the building unharmed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
