An off-duty Cleveland fire lieutenant was fatally shot Sunday night, reports wkyc.com.
Police say 45-year-old Lt. William Walker had parked in his driveway and was shot multiple times in the chest while walking to his house.
At a brief noon news conference Monday, officials with the Cleveland Fire Department labeled Lt. Walker as a “dedicated” worker and a “well-liked guy.”
Although few details were released in the press conference, one official said Lt. Walker’s family had heard some apparent shouting outside.
Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson has released the following statement: “My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Lt. Walker at this difficult time. His service to our community was invaluable and he will be missed. I am truly sorry for your loss.”
