OK Restaurant a Total Loss After Being Gutted by Overnight Fire

According to a report from KOCO, a popular restaurant in Midwest City, Oklahoma, that has been a staple in the community for 35 years was destroyed by an overnight fire.

The Midwest City Fire Department (MCFD) responded to Chequers Restaurant and Pub near Air Depot Boulevard and Southeast 15th Street just after midnight on Thursday. MCFD’s Anthony Williams said that, on arrival, crews found heavy smoke conditions pouring from the structure.

MCFD officials are now investigating the cause of the fire.

Chequers’ owner said he was shocked by the damage and that he’d never seen anything like it before.
