Oklahoma City (OK) Firefighter Dies After Contracting COVID-19

An Oklahoma City (OK) firefighter died on Christmas Eve after contracting the coronavirus, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.

On December 9, 2020, Major Andrew “Andy” P. Davis, 45, contracted COVID-19 while providing emergency medical care to a patient who had tested positive for the virus. Major Davis passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020.

Major Davis had 20 years of service. Per the Oklahoma City (OK) Fire Department, he was the son of retired Captain Johnny Davis, brother of Deputy Chief Tony Davis and Major Scott Davis (4-A), uncle of Cpl. A.J. Davis (6-C). “Like his brothers, nephew and father, Andy loved the job and serving the residents of Oklahoma City,” according to the department’s social media. “His jovial approach to life endeared him to all who knew him, and his work ethic was an example of excellence.”
