One Child Dies in CO Apartment Fire

According to a report from KKTV, a child has died after a fire erupted at a three-story Aurora, Colorado, apartment complex off Evans and Chambers just before 2 a.m. Monday. Thirty-one residents were displaced.

Aurora Fire Rescue (AFR) firefighters rescued several residents who were struggling to escape. The age of the deceased child was not released.

Two others were transported to local hospitals. The conditions of the two surviving patients are unknown.

Investigators are now looking into the cause of the fire.
