One Child Killed, Other Child Seriously Injured in Hermon (ME) Fire

One child has been killed and another seriously injured in a mobile home fire Tuesday morning in Hermon, reports wcsh6.com (http://on.wcsh6.com/1TjRKpf)

Officials said a third child, 8 years old, was able to escape the burning home and flagged down motorists to help.

The fire was at 292 Wing RD. and was reported about 7:15 a.m. Tuesday.

John Parker and Lasey Reidy lived in the mobile home and the Fire Marshal’s office said they had left the children alone after they got up to do some errands.The two parents returned to the mobile home as firefighters were arriving.

Officials say 9-year-old Wyatt Parker was spending the night with his two cousins when the home went up in flames. His body was found by firefighters in the living room.

In critical condition at EMMC is 10-year-old Ashlyn Parker, who was rescued from her bedroom by firefighters. Her condition improved throughout the day as medical officials treated her for smoke inhalation.
