Officials said an elderly woman and her son escaped the fire with non-life-threatening injuries. They were listed in stable condition at the burn unit at Medstar hospital.

But firefighters then found a man’s body inside the home. Investigators said they were working to identify the man.

About 75 firefighters were called to the two-alarm fire to help extinguish the flames.
