One Dead, Another Injured in Two-Alarm RI House Fire

According to a report from WPRI, one person died and another was injured when a two-alarm fire struck a home in Providence, Rhode Island, late Saturday night.

Providence Fire Department (PFD) crews arrived to the Lisbon Street home just after 10:30 p.m. to fire shooting from the third story of the triple-decker structure.

PFD Deputy Chief Stephen Houle said their crews discovered two victims on the third floor. One victim was pronounced dead on scene, and the other was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation. Their identities have not yet been released.

Houle said the home is not livable, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
